FAQ

Here are some common things folks are curious about when getting started. If you don’t see your question here—or just want to talk things through—feel free to                        to reach out. I’d love to hear from you.

Common Questions:

How much do you charge for lessons?

My current rate is $50 per one-hour lesson. I also offer a 30-minute trial lesson for $20 if you’d like to feel things out before diving in!

What ages and levels do you teach?

All ages and all levels are welcome! From complete beginners to experienced players. Whether you’re a curious kid, a teen preparing for auditions, or an adult looking to reconnect with your instrument, I’m here for it.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes! A 30-minute trial lesson is available for $20. It’s a great way to get to know each other and see if it’s a good fit.

Do I need to have my own flute?

Yes, students will need their own flute to take lessons. If you’re just starting out and need help finding one, I’m happy to offer guidance on rentals or purchasing options.

Do you teach adults who are returning to flute after a break?

Absolutely. It’s never too late to return to the flute. In fact, there’s something really special about bringing your current self—your voice, your experiences—to an instrument you once loved. We’ll take things at your pace and rediscover your sound together.

Can I take lessons just for fun, without a big goal in mind?

Totally! That said, if you do want to work toward something more structured, I’ve also helped students prepare for auditions, like district band, and celebrated their success.

What should I bring to my first lesson?

Bring your flute, any music or method books you’ve worked from in the past, a water bottle, and most importantly—curiosity! We’ll take it from there.
